Founding History
The Beginning
SISTUHS, Incorporated was founded on the campus of Florida State University on December 3, 1992. Our founding members are Akiba Jackson and Germaine Smith-Baugh. SISTUHS, Incorporated was established to foster the personal growth and development of African American Women. 29 years later, SISTUHS continues to work for the community across its' vast collegiate and professional chapters.​

SISTUHS, Incorporated is officially affiliated with Progressive Black Men, Incorporated, which was chartered Spring of 2003 on the University of Florida campus.
Chapter History
Our Origins
The University of Florida chapter was the second (2nd) chapter of SISTUHS, Incorporated to be established. Our chapter was chartered here on the campus of the University of Florida in the Spring of 1998. We were established by Shantè Collins, Myrland Etienne, Edelyne Guerrier, Evelyn Harocopos, Shakisha Harris, Evelyn Hernandez, Jessica Montalvo, Litza Rivera, and Kimberly Snelling. Throughout our chapter's history, we were the first chapter to induct a substantial number of Latin-American women.
Important History
The University of Florida Chapter was active from the time of its establishment in 1998 until 2000. The chapter was rechartered March 13, 2003.
